It is my pleasure to invite all fourths and fifth graders to become a member of the DBS Select Chorus! The chorus is an auditioned group for anyone serious about singing music and dancing as a group. Everyone is welcome to audition, even if you have never been in chorus before!
When is the audition and what should I expect?
Auditions will be held in the music room January 10th and 12th during recess. At the audition, the student will be asked to do a quick warm up with Mrs. Stein, sing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,” hold out an ‘s’ sound for as long as possible, and sing and clap back short rhythms.
When do we meet?
Chorus will rehearse every Monday in the music room from 12:55-1:40PM.

Will I get to perform for an audience?
Absolutely! Our Winter Concert will be held on Wednesday, December 6th, 2023 at 6:30PM, and in addition to that, the Select Chorus will lead the school song at assemblies and will go caroling at local retirements homes following the concert.
What is expected of me if I join Select Chorus?
Select Chorus members are expected to attend all rehearsals and participate in all musical performances throughout the year . Although it is a fun time for singing and dancing, it is still a class where work takes place. We must prepare for our stellar concert performances, after all! Caring, safe and responsible behavior is a must.
When is our first rehearsal?
Select Chorus will resume Monday, January 15th, 2022.
Where do I sign up?
Just come to the music room on Wednesday in January to audition!
